a ski trip for Parker
I am so lucky to have a sister that lives in the Catskill Mountains. It is heavenly to go there. If you follow along on Instagram, you will see we were there for Christmas. I sometimes don't want to leave - not because I don't want to come home, because I love where we live, but because the air is so fresh and clean, it's utterly relaxing, the internet hiccups so I can be disconnected and I just adore my sister, my brother-in-law and my nieces. Plus, they live on 14 gorgeous acres of land with a stream, swimming hole in the summer and have chickens.
Parker really wants to try and ski so we plan to head back this weekend or next and get him on the slopes. I'm crazy excited! I haven't been skiing in a number of years, so I feel like I might need to learn again. However, even if I spend all the time focusing on my little man, I have all the essentials to pack.
Start with a great bag. This one is from Shore Bags and they are giving my readers free shipping with any order over $49 with code PinkShore. You guys, this bag is the best. I tend to overpack and this fits all the essentials (and non-essentials too). Now add a warm parka, a fun hat, mittens, a super warm scarf, cozy socks, the warmest winter knit sweater, my favorite travel and lounge pants, the best hanging out jammies for after the slopes. and finally, warm boots! We end up doing quite a bit of hiking through their woods when we are there, so these are key.
I'll look forward to sharing our adventures when we get there and hopefully, i'll spend more time skiing than in the lodge. ;)
